The first half of 2025 was marked by intensive promotional activities in the digital space. Continuing its strategy of promoting the region through online channels, PROT focused on projects that increase the region’s recognition as an attractive tourist destination.

Below we present selected initiatives implemented during this period.

Copernicus Trail – social media campaign

As part of its cooperation with partners from the Warmian-Masurian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian provinces, the Pomorskie Tourist Board carried out a campaign promoting places and attractions located on the Copernicus Trail. The activities were carried out on the Facebook and Instagram profiles of the Copernicus Trail – Constellation of Places, Mazury.travel, and Pomorskie.travel.

Campaign results: reached 1.4 million users, over 5 million post views, over 230,000 promotional video views, and nearly 70,000 reactions.

Pomorskie Tours – new booking, analytical, and promotional tools

In the first half of this year, the pomorskietours.pl website was modernized by implementing a new booking system, optimizing UX, and expanding analytics. This allows for more effective monitoring of the effectiveness of marketing activities.

At the same time, new social media campaigns were launched to support the sale of one-day guided tours.

Result: a steady increase in the number of bookings and higher sales year-on-year.

Google Ads Grant – non-profit campaigns

At the beginning of the year, PROT joined the Google Ads Grant program, which enables non-profit organizations to run promotional campaigns.

Results: over 220,000 impressions, 34,000 clicks, advertising equivalent worth USD 38,000.

Pomeranian Tourist Card – sales campaign

As part of online activities, the promotion of the Pomorskie Tourist Card packages continued using Meta Ads and Google Ads. The implementation of advanced analytics on the kartaturysty.pomorskie.travel website and constant campaign optimization contributed to the sale of over 1,200 packages in the first half of 2025.

Kashubian strawberries – seasonal campaign

During the summer season, a campaign was conducted to promote a regional product – Kashubian strawberries. Online activities accompanied the distribution of local delicacies on board LOT Polish Airlines flights on the Gdańsk–Warsaw–Gdańsk route and at Gdańsk airport.

Campaign results: over 200,000 post views, 15,000 video views, hundreds of user reactions.

Summary

The activities carried out in the first half of 2025 confirm the effectiveness of the multi-channel strategy for promoting the Pomeranian region. The use of online tools not only allowed us to reach a wide audience, but also provided real support for the sale of tourism products and services. The continuation of these activities in the coming months remains one of the key elements of PROT’s communication strategy.

We are proud to work with the Council in developing dialogue and joint actions for a smarter and more resilient tourism sector.

As part of its efforts to promote the region, the Pomorskie Tourist Board has partnered with Canal+ to produce new episodes of the program “POLSKA z góry” (Poland from Above). The program features unique places, interesting facts, and sometimes surprising information.

The program presents unique drone shots showing the beauty of Pomorskie nature and the most valuable cultural monuments from a bird’s eye view, enriched with voice-over narration. The premiere of the material is scheduled for October.

The locations featured in the episode include: Pruszcz Gdański, the Ethnographic Park in Wdzydze, the Museum of the Slovinian Village in Kluki, the city of Malbork, the Hevelianum Center, and the picturesque Żuławy Loop route.

PROT’s activities are carried out in various media, both traditional and digital, which allows it to reach a wide audience in Poland and abroad. In the case of cooperation with Canal+, the average audience for a single episode of the program is 64,544 people, which significantly increases the reach of the promotion of the region.u.

The BASCIL project, implemented by the Pomorskie Tourist Board and the Pomerania Development Agency, is one of the most comprehensive initiatives promoting culinary tourism in the region. It has involved the implementation of extensive marketing activities – from study visits and professional online campaigns based on interesting content and high-quality photos and videos, through modern content tools, to numerous publications. All these activities had one goal: to strengthen the recognition of Pomorskie Taste as an innovative, high-quality culinary tourism product.

The Pomorskie Taste was created as a result of cooperation with thirteen local producers – beneficiaries of the Bascil project. It is a network of selected places that offer quality products and unique experiences. The trail includes farms, family-run manufacturers, family businesses, and workshops – all created with passion and respect for tradition and quality. The trail not only promotes local flavors, but also combines cuisine with cultural and educational tourism, encouraging visitors to explore the region through their senses and direct contact with its inhabitants.

The experiences offered as part of Pomorskie Taste are aimed at individual tourists as well as organized groups, business customers, and event organizers. Thanks to the support of the Bascil project, the trail has gained a consistent image, professional promotional tools, and communication channels that allow it to reach a wide audience—local, national, and international.

Study visit for the media and tourism industry (May 12–14, 2025)

One of the key moments of the promotional campaign was a three-day study visit for journalists and tour operators. The event program included visits to project beneficiaries, culinary workshops, tastings, and presentations of local products and attractions in the region. Thanks to direct contact with the Pomorskie Taste, participants were able to not only experience the quality of the services offered, but also describe them in detail and recommend them through their own channels. This resulted in numerous publications and promotional materials, as well as intensified B2B contacts, which are already bringing measurable results in the form of increased interest in the region’s offer.

Three-stage online campaign – consistent communication in digital media

A three-stage online advertising campaign is being implemented on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), Google Ads, and YouTube. Strategically planned activities included:

  • Stage I (April) – building awareness of the Pomorskie Taste brand and increasing its recognition among residents and tourists;
  • Stage II (June) – presentation of specific offers available along the trail;
  • Stage III (planned for September 2025) – promotion of the autumn offer with an emphasis on themed integration, educational, and culinary trips.

Thanks to professional targeting and high-quality graphic and video materials, the campaign achieved excellent reach (over a million views) and positive audience reactions.

Professional photo shoot and promotional film

As part of the visual activities, a professional photo shoot was carried out with models and actual partners of the trail. The aim was to present the Pomorskie Taste as an attractive culinary and tourist experience available all year round. The result of this work is a collection of 160 high-quality photos and a 2-minute promotional film used in advertising campaigns, social media, and press materials.

Content campaign – six thematic articles

As part of the content marketing strategy, a series of six professional articles was published on the Pomorskie Prestige and Pomorskie Tours websites. The texts covered the following topics, among others:

  • introduction to the concept of the trail and its unique character,
  • presentation of regions and local products,
  • suggestions for ready-made trips and tourist experiences,
  • interviews with producers and participants of the trail,
  • presentation of the autumn offer for various groups (tourists, companies, schools, families).

The articles are an important pillar of long-term communication and education of the audience about the advantages of culinary tourism in Pomorskie.

E-book with beneficiaries’ offers

A promotional e-book has also been created, presenting selected facilities and their tourist and culinary offerings. The publication has been designed for a wide range of recipients – from individual tourists, through tour operators, to institutional clients. The e-book is available on the Pomorskie Prestige and Pomorskie Tours websites, providing a convenient tool for travel planning.

Download the e-book

Podcast with an expert – knowledge and inspiration

As part of the communication activities, a podcast was also produced with the participation of expert Hubert Gonera. The conversation focused on the potential of Pomorskie in the context of culinary tourism and the role played by projects such as BASCIL in building the image of the region as a destination for slow food and quality experiences.

Listen to the podcast

PDF catalog – a sales and promotion tool

A catalog of offers in PDF format has also been prepared, containing detailed information about the facilities, the range of services provided, photos, and contact details. The catalog has been designed in a modern, user-friendly graphic form with tourism organizers, event agencies, and individual customers in mind.

Download the catalog

BASCIL page on Pomorskie Prestige – a comprehensive knowledge base

A dedicated tab has been launched on the Pomorskie Prestige portal – Pomorskie Taste, which comprehensively presents all content and materials created as part of the project. The website is available in two language versions – Polish and English – which allows it to reach international audiences and promote the region on foreign markets.

https://pomorskie-prestige.eu/kategoria/bascil

Online beneficiary profiles

In addition, a special subpage with beneficiary profiles has been created on the website, presenting the offer of each project partner. Each card contains a description, photo, and contact details, which significantly facilitates contact with local producers and restaurateurs and increases their visibility on the web.

We are not slowing down—we have more initiatives ahead of us to promote culinary tourism in the region and activities to disseminate proven methods and experiences developed within the project. We are determined to continue our mission, combining local flavors with knowledge and an innovative approach to promoting the region.

The Bike Across the Baltic (BAB) project is coming to an end – it’s the perfect moment to summarize what we’ve achieved over the last two years! The full article is available in English here: ARTICLE

Telle Tuominen, a tourism lecturer at Turku University of Applied Sciences (Project Leader), has compiled the experiences, activities, and achievements of our international project. In her article, she describes the development of the EuroVelo 10 international cycle route around the Baltic Sea, focusing on the results of the Bike Across the Baltic project, implemented between August 1, 2023, and July 30, 2025.

With the growing popularity of cycling as a sustainable means of transport and form of tourism, the BAB project is an important step towards promoting and improving cycling infrastructure in the region. The article presents the latest activities and their impact in the four partner countries: Estonia, Finland, Poland, and Sweden.

The report shows the current state of development of cycling tourism and specific activities carried out as part of the BAB project – from infrastructure investments to promotional and educational activities. It also identifies key factors conducive to the development of cycling routes, as well as strategic directions for further action, both for local governments and non-governmental organizations involved in sustainable mobility, as well as for the tourism industry and cyclists themselves.

Poland: The state of cycling tourism and the contribution of the BAB project

Poland supports the development of cycling tourism through national mobility, health, and climate policies. In the Pomorskie region, the development of cycling is strongly embedded in regional strategies, with an emphasis on active mobility and sustainable tourism. Many regions in Poland have been promoting cycling tourism for years. In June 2025, the Polish Tourist Organization submitted an application to the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) to establish a National Coordination Center (NECC) in Poland.

At the regional level, key players include the Pomorskie Tourist Board and the Marshal’s Office of the Pomorskie Province, as well as local non-governmental organizations and local governments. The strengths of cycling tourism in Poland include well-prepared seaside towns such as Ustka and Łeba, growing multimodality (e.g., ferry connections from Gdynia and Gdańsk), and the increasing involvement of local communities through campaigns such as “Cycling May.” The development and promotion of cycling routes is based on structured cooperation and many years of experience in implementing EU projects.

However, challenges remain, such as a lack of nationwide coordination, inconsistent route signage (especially in rural and forest areas), limited availability of cyclist-friendly services in remote areas, and the need to create dedicated cycling infrastructure in places where cyclists share the road with other vehicles.

What has the BAB project changed in Poland?

Thanks to the BAB project, the Pomorskie Tourist Board has carried out a detailed inventory of the EuroVelo 10 route in the regions of Pomerania, Warmia, and Masuria, covering a total length of 420 km. The key strengths of the route and areas for improvement were identified, particularly near the Słowiński National Park, where measures are needed to increase safety, improve signage, and provide adequate leisure infrastructure.

The BAB project also initiated new forms of cooperation between the departments of tourism, transport, and environmental protection in local governments, and raised awareness among tourism experts about the development of cycling tourism. The results of the project include: a Polish version of a comprehensive report on cycling tourism in the Baltic countries, along with good practices and recommendations, available here https:/ /prot.host3.jamel.com.pl/turystyka-rowerowa-w-regionie-morza-baltyckiego-rozwoj-wyzwania-i-najlepsze-praktyki/ , numerous regional workshops with stakeholders from local government units and cycling tourism experts, an international webinar on cycling tourism, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyHD8WgVJUw, and thematic sessions on cycling tourism at the Baltic Tourism Forum organized by the Thematic Area Coordinators for Tourism of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Thanks to these activities, the EuroVelo 10 route is becoming increasingly attractive to foreign tourists, and the results obtained provide valuable guidance for future actions at the regional and, soon, national level.

On June 26, we promoted Kashubia and the entire Pomorskie region in an exceptionally sweet and heavenly way. We invited Kashubian strawberries aboard LOT Polish Airlines in the form of appetizing muffins, which were enjoyed by many passengers on the Warsaw-Gdańsk-Warsaw route.

At the end of June, LOT Polish Airlines passengers were able to enjoy unique muffins with Kashubian strawberries, prepared by the family-run Wega Joanna Krawczyk Confectionery in Gdańsk. The sweet treat was not only a feast for the palate, but also an invitation to discover the pomorskie flavors and visit Kashubia – both for longer family vacations and short trips close to nature.
Kaszëbskô malëna, or Kashubian strawberry, has long been our regional treasure. It has also been appreciated by the world – in the prestigious TasteAtlas ranking, it took second place among the best fruits in the world. No wonder that it has become the symbol of the summer campaign promoting Pomorskie. Muffins with strawberries were served on board planes and at Gdańsk Airport, where they were offered to travelers and guests.

The campaign was not only intended to delight with its taste, but also to remind people that Pomorskie is the perfect holiday destination – full of nature, hospitality, and unique culinary experiences. Together with the Pomorskie Tourist Board, the Marshal’s Office of the Pomorskie Province, and LOT Polish Airlines, we showed how beautifully the region can be promoted – through taste, hospitality, and a genuine passion for local products.

Kashubian strawberries delight not only with their taste, but also with their appearance – they are smaller, intensely fragrant, darker in color, and have a thin, shiny skin. Their sweetness is reminiscent of wild strawberries, and their juiciness and firmness make them irresistible.

It was a real feast for the senses and a beautiful way to invite people to discover Pomorskie – a region where taste, nature, and tradition go hand in hand. We would like to thank everyone who was with us that day, and we invite you to continue discovering the flavors of Kashubia and pomorskie!

The Velo-city 2025 international conference in Gdańsk was not only a global celebration of cycling, but also an excellent opportunity to meet the partners of the Baltic Biking UPGRADE (BBU) project, funded by the Interreg South Baltic program, which aims to develop and promote long-distance cycling tourism along the Baltic coast.

BBU project stand – a center for cooperation and inspiration

During the four-day conference, BBU project partners were present with their own project stand, which became a place for intensive discussions, meetings, promotion, and sharing experiences. The stand, run jointly by the Pomorskie Tourist Board (project leader) and partners from Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Lithuania, and Finland, was visited by many guests, from cycling tourism experts to representatives of European and national institutions.

Among the active participants in the project meetings and those present at the stand were partners from:

  • Pomorskie Tourist Board (PROT) – Poland (project leader)
  • West Pomeranian Tourist Board – Poland
  • Danish Cycling Tourism (Dansk Cykelturisme) – Denmark
  • Cykelfrämjandet – Swedish Cycling Advocacy Organisation – Sweden
  • European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) – Belgium
  • and an expert collaborating with the Blekinge Region – Sweden

Associate partners were also present, including representatives of the Pomorskie Province, the West Pomorskie Province, The Finnish Center for Cycling Tourism – Bikeland, the Polish Tourist Organization (POT) – whose Vice President visited our stand, supporting the activities of BBU and other initiatives related to cycling tourism.

BBU on stage – participation in a panel discussion led by the ECF

The strong presence of the BBU project was also evident during the conference’s thematic sessions. Magda Leszczyna-Rzucidło, representing the Pomorskie Tourist Board and acting as Coordinator of the EUSBSR Tourism Thematic Area, took part as a panelist in the discussion entitled “Overcoming challenges in EU-funded projects,” led by Goran Lepen from the European Cyclists’ Federation. In her speech, Magda shared her experiences from the implementation of the BBU project, including those related to the management of international partnerships, effective communication with stakeholders, and the planning of dissemination activities.

Thanks to this session, the Baltic Biking UPGRADE project was presented as an example of a successful and integrated international cycling project that combines infrastructure activities with promotion, education, and sustainable mobility policy.
