In the last week of May, a delegation from the Pomorskie Tourist Board had the honor of participating in the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan world exhibition as part of the official representation of the Pomorskie region.

The Pomorskie Region was present with a presentation in the Polish Pavilion at the EXPO exhibition, as well as with activities promoting the region’s tourism potential among tour operators and representatives of the Japanese media. One of the key points of our presence in Japan was participation in an economic seminar, which took place on May 27.

The event, organized by the Pomerania Development Agency, began with a speech by Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Province, and a speech by former Polish President Lech Wałęsa. The substantive part included a presentation on the economic potential of the Pomeranian region and a presentation by PROT discussing the province’s tourist offer.

Carefully prepared with Japanese audiences in mind, the presentation highlighted the key features of Pomerania’s tourist offer, while also referring to the common cultural and historical themes linking our region with Osaka, Kansai Prefecture, and Japan.

The meeting, organized in cooperation with the Pomerania Development Agency, was attended by over 60 representatives of companies and the media.

On June 1-6, 2025, we will be hosting two Italian influencers in Pomorskie. Fiammetta Gatto and Alessandro Tofani (https://www.instagram.com/fiammettafiore_?igsh=Y2Zic2Z0d3NzZDVq) in connection with an influencer campaign organized on the Italian market in cooperation with the Foreign Center of the Polish Tourist Organization in Rome.

The guests will travel through the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the Pomeranian region. They will visit various places: the Hel Peninsula with Chałupy and Kuźnica, where they will experience water sports; the Palace under the Stork’s Nest in Runowo, where they will have the opportunity to explore the area on horseback; Bory Tucholskie with the Natural History Museum of the Bory Tucholskie National Park and the Animal Show Farm in Chociński Młyn; Wdzydze Kiszewskie with the Museum – Ethnographic Park of Teodora and Izydor Gulgowski, admiring the landscape of the area and the Kashubian lakes from the observation tower. In addition, they will spend a day in Żuławy, taking a cruise with Morskie Safari to observe seals and a cruise on the Mała Pętla Żuław (Small Żuławy Loop). As part of the planned sports activities, an important part of the program will also be a canoeing trip down the Brda River and a bicycle trip across the Vistula Spit along the R10 route.

An integral part of the visit will also be the local cuisine presented by the partners of Pomorskie Prestige.

This year’s campaign on the Italian market focuses on the four elements, with Pomorskie represented by the element of WATER. The organizers are guided by the spirit of slow tourism, experiencing nature, forests, water, and, above all, limiting the use of social media. Therefore, influencers will have limited access to the Internet and their phones in order to report on their experiences after they have had them—without contact with the world of technology, even for a short time.

Materials from the trip will be published on the influencers’ IG and via FB ZO POT in Rome.

From March 25 to 30, 2025, Pomorskie will host Australian journalist Richard Coles, who writes about unique travel experiences for the award-winning website eglobal (Global Travel Media) https://eglobaltravelmedia.com.au/2024/12/19/global-travel-media-2025-award-winning-travel-news-leader/ .

During his several-day visit, the journalist explores the region, focusing primarily on Gdańsk and Sopot. He learns about the history and present day of the cities, walking with a guide and enjoying many pleasant experiences thanks to the Gdańsk Tourist Card and Sopot Tourist Card . Richard will visit, among others, the Forest Opera and the State Art Gallery in Sopot, and will also be a guest of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk during a symphony concert.

The journalist’s interest in travel stems from his childhood spent in Canada, as well as the US and the UK, and from his long career in the aviation industry, during which he lived in nine different countries and worked in over 55. He now translates his travel experiences into articles that tell stories and spark interest, making readers want to include these places in their travel plans.

In his articles, the journalist aims to focus the attention of middle-aged and older tourists who want to learn more about destinations such as Pomerania and Poland. These are mature and experienced tourists who, while exploring the places they visit and enjoying the attractions available, also spend significant amounts of money, contributing to the city’s budget.

The study visit was organized by the Pomorskie Tourist Board in cooperation with the Sopot Tourist Organization and the Gdańsk Tourist Organization, and courtesy of cultural institutions in Gdańsk and Sopot.
