On June 26, we promoted Kashubia and the entire Pomorskie region in an exceptionally sweet and heavenly way. We invited Kashubian strawberries aboard LOT Polish Airlines in the form of appetizing muffins, which were enjoyed by many passengers on the Warsaw-Gdańsk-Warsaw route.

At the end of June, LOT Polish Airlines passengers were able to enjoy unique muffins with Kashubian strawberries, prepared by the family-run Wega Joanna Krawczyk Confectionery in Gdańsk. The sweet treat was not only a feast for the palate, but also an invitation to discover the pomorskie flavors and visit Kashubia – both for longer family vacations and short trips close to nature.
Kaszëbskô malëna, or Kashubian strawberry, has long been our regional treasure. It has also been appreciated by the world – in the prestigious TasteAtlas ranking, it took second place among the best fruits in the world. No wonder that it has become the symbol of the summer campaign promoting Pomorskie. Muffins with strawberries were served on board planes and at Gdańsk Airport, where they were offered to travelers and guests.

The campaign was not only intended to delight with its taste, but also to remind people that Pomorskie is the perfect holiday destination – full of nature, hospitality, and unique culinary experiences. Together with the Pomorskie Tourist Board, the Marshal’s Office of the Pomorskie Province, and LOT Polish Airlines, we showed how beautifully the region can be promoted – through taste, hospitality, and a genuine passion for local products.

Kashubian strawberries delight not only with their taste, but also with their appearance – they are smaller, intensely fragrant, darker in color, and have a thin, shiny skin. Their sweetness is reminiscent of wild strawberries, and their juiciness and firmness make them irresistible.

It was a real feast for the senses and a beautiful way to invite people to discover Pomorskie – a region where taste, nature, and tradition go hand in hand. We would like to thank everyone who was with us that day, and we invite you to continue discovering the flavors of Kashubia and pomorskie!

In 2024, inspectors from the famous Michelin Guide visited the Pomorskie Province for the first time. As a result of this visit, a star was awarded to the Arco by Paco Pérez restaurant in Gdańsk, and the first Green Star in Poland was awarded to the Eliksir restaurant. A total of 19 restaurants were awarded. In 2025, the experts returned to the region and brought good news: all the restaurants that had previously been awarded maintained their distinctions, and three new ones joined the list.

Michelin star for Arco by Paco Pérez

Gdańsk has distinguished itself on the gastronomic map – as many as 11 local restaurants have been included in the guide, which is a huge achievement. The greatest honor – a Michelin star – was awarded to Arco by Paco Pérez, confirming the highest quality of the cuisine served there.

Arco is located on the 33rd floor of Olivia Star in Gdańsk, offering breathtaking views of the city. This place offers sophisticated cuisine for gourmets, with tasting menus – both meat and vegetarian. An ideal choice for special occasions.

Right next to Arco is the Treinta y Tres restaurant, run by the same owner and using the same kitchen. It has been awarded the Bib Gourmand distinction, which indicates excellent quality at a reasonable price. It specializes in Spanish cuisine based on local and Iberian ingredients. The place is less formal but still elegant – perfect for social gatherings or romantic dinners.

Green Star and recommendation for Eliksir

The Eliksir restaurant has gone down in history as the first in Poland to receive a Michelin Green Star – an award given for a sustainable approach to gastronomy. This unique distinction, introduced in 2020, is only given to establishments that use environmentally friendly practices. Eliksir has gained recognition not only for its excellent cuisine, but also for its care for the environment – it recycles oil, uses leftovers such as citrus peels in liqueurs, and chooses suppliers who share similar values.

The restaurant is also famous for its unique approach to pairing food with cocktails – it is one of the pioneers of food pairing in Poland. A visit to Eliksir is a culinary journey full of taste surprises.

Pomorskie restaurants recognized by Michelin

Following Michelin’s culinary trail, you will be spoiled for choice – as many as 21 restaurants from Pomorskie have made it onto the prestigious list. Gdańsk leads the way – apart from Arco and Eliksir, it is worth visiting: Mercato (Hilton), Piwna47, Fino, Niesztuka, Ritz, True, Tygle, Treinta y Tres, and Hewelke. We particularly recommend Sztuczka, which won the title of Opening of the Year according to Michelin.

In Sopot, try the dishes at Fisherman, 1911 Restaurant, Vinissimo, Cafe Xander, and L’Entre Villes, as well as the newly added Petit Paris. In Gdynia, Butchery & Wine and Oberża 86 await you. Outside the Tri-City, it is worth visiting unique places such as Luneta & Lorneta Bistro Club in the Ciekocinko Palace and Solmarina in Wiślinka – true culinary gems of the region.

Congratulations to all restaurants!

The Best Tourist Information Center Competition is a prestigious initiative of the Polish Tourist Organization (POT), which for the fifteenth time recognizes the highest standard of tourist service in PSIT (Polish Tourist Information System) facilities. The competition promotes good practices, supports local governments and local entities, and above all, inspires the improvement of tourist services.

The aim of the competition is:

    • to improve the quality of services provided by tourist information points and centers,
    • to identify leading entities that can serve as a model for managers of tourist information centers and points,
    • to promote good practices, indicating the desired quality, organization, and management characteristics of tourist information centers and points,
    • to increase the interest of local and regional authorities in creating and managing tourist information.

Who can participate?

Certified tourist information centers, both small points and larger centers, can apply to participate. The competition takes into account four levels of certification (1-4 stars) to ensure that the evaluation is fair regardless of the scale of the business.

Applications for the competition can be submitted until July 7, 2025, via the website: https://www.pot.gov.pl/pl/dzialalnosc/konkursy/najlepsze-centrum-informacji-turystycznej

The Polish Tourist Organization has announced the 22nd edition of the competition for the Best Tourist Product. Thus, the Pomorskie Tourist Board is once again conducting the regional stage of this competition in the Pomorskie Province.

The aim of the competition is to improve the quality and competitiveness of tourist offerings by creating products that are not only attractive to tourists, but also innovative, tourist-friendly, and offer many opportunities to spend free time in an interesting way. Every year, the competition jury pays special attention to the accessibility of tourist products for tourists and the use of modern technologies and innovations in product development. The certificates of the Polish Tourist Organization are the most important award in the field of tourism, constituting a recommendation and guarantee of the highest level of service. They also raise the status of a tourist product and strengthen its position in customer offers, thanks to which the brand of a given product becomes recognizable throughout the country and even abroad.

Tourism products submitted to the competition compete for four types of certificates. The most prestigious, and the one whose selection arouses the most excitement, is the Gold Certificate, which can be awarded to a tourism product no earlier than three years after the date of receiving the POT Certificate.

POT Certificates are awarded to tourism products in five categories:

    • Recurring event
    • Tourism service package – Tourism event
    • Facility
    • Trail
    • Place

Every year, as many as 10 POT Certificates are awarded to products that meet all the evaluation criteria and have been on the market for more than two years.

The Tourist Discovery of the Year 2025 Certificate is awarded to products that have extraordinary potential, are still little known, and have been on the tourist market for less than two years.

Internet and social media users also have a say in the POT competition, evaluating the products nominated in the Internet Users’ Certificate competition. Voting takes place on the polska.travel website, where Internet users, based on their subjective assessment of the places they have visited and their impressions of participating in events, select one product from among those submitted for voting. The Regional Commission nominates one of the candidates for the POT Certificate in a given year to vote for this certificate.

The POT Certificate is a special distinction awarded to unique tourist attractions in Poland, distinguished by their quality, professional service management, and high level of tourist service. This is the 22nd edition of the competition, and I am extremely pleased that the number of such facilities in our country is growing every year. It is worth noting that Poland is currently among the top 20 most attractive tourist destinations in the world. This is undoubtedly due in large part to the uniqueness and affordability of the tourist product, which is also appreciated by the members of the Competition jury, admits POT President Rafał Szmytke.

All certified tourist products will be included in the Polish Tourist Organization’s promotional program. The winner of the POT Gold Certificate will receive a promotional campaign worth PLN 250,000. Can tourism thrive in times of growing climate pressure? What steps can entrepreneurs and local governments take today to protect their future? We answered these questions during the webinar “Tourism in the face of the climate crisis,” which took place on April 8, 2025, at the initiative of Pomorskie Tourist Board.

The meeting brought together over 50 participants from Pomorskie Region, but also from other regions of Poland – representatives of the tourism industry, local governments, non-governmental and educational organizations, who actively participated in the interaction through the Menti tool. The atmosphere was dynamic, full of inspiration and practical knowledge.

Marta Mills – an expert perspective on challenges and opportunities

The speaker at the meeting was Marta Mills, an international expert in sustainable tourism and climate change, and a consultant for the Global Destination Sustainability Movement. Her presentation clearly showed that climate action in tourism is not only a necessity, but also a huge opportunity for development, building competitive advantage, and customer loyalty.

Marta presented a number of specific examples and data:

    • The impact of climate change on the sector – from fires and floods in popular tourist regions to the need to evacuate tourists and close attractions (e.g., the Acropolis in Athens at 45°C).
    • Changing traveler preferences – growing interest in lesser-known, cooler destinations and expectations of tourism companies in terms of transparency of pro-environmental activities.
    • Tools and strategies – including free carbon footprint calculators (SME Climate Hub, Climate & Strategy), methods for reducing emissions, decarbonization, and improving energy efficiency in hotels and restaurants.

Good practices from the Baltic Sea region

The second part of the meeting presented the CliNeDest – Climate Neutral Destinations project, which aims to support destinations and tourism businesses in climate transition. Participants learned about, among other things:

    • The “Climate Smart Business” toolkit – developed in collaboration with companies to support the planning of decarbonization measures.
    • The Climate Neutral Destination network, which brings together regions striving for low-carbon tourism.
    • Added value for companies: including increased competitiveness, access to expert knowledge, visibility, and the opportunity to promote pro-climate activities.

Presentations from the webinar are available here:

Presentation 1/2

Presentation 2/2

Thanks to their activity in the Menti app, participants shared their feelings, challenges, and ideas. We asked them, among other things, how they assess their climate knowledge, what they see as the greatest threats in their destinations, and what opportunities arise from climate change.
